Near as we can tell, the boreal chorus frogs emerged in their annual rite of spring on April 29. Their delightful trill should last a good six weeks or so. The melt is on in earnest and with the boards coming down around town and both Serranos and the Rock 'n Roll Bakery set to open May 1, "the season" is upon us. Come check it out.
On our afternoon walk we received two reports of a sow with cubs outside of town. We'll be digging out the pepper spray and hoping the appearance of the bruins signals the arrival of spring despite the fact that it is currently snowing lightly.
With over two hundred inches of snow this winter we look forward to a gorgeous summer replete with raging waterfalls, copious wildflowers and nary a wildfire. 2014 will be a great year to visit Glacier.
